Despite current challenges, the aerospace industry remains a dynamic and promising industry for today’s graduates – particularly for those with the management expertise and specialized business knowledge to work across the industry’s value chain and come up with solutions for new travel challenges.
If you’ve got your heart set on a career in aerospace management for business, there’s one particular place you might want to keep in mind…
The European capital of the aerospace industry
Since World War One, Toulouse has become the hotspot for over 500 aeronautics and aerospace companies, welcoming the likes of Airbus, Air France Industries and CNES (French Space Agency), ATR, Thales, and Safran, among others, as well as innovative research centers.
Fast forward to 2005, and a private-public incubator named Aerospace Valley was commissioned to help Toulouse branch out and look towards high-tech business initiatives including artificial intelligence (AI), self-driving vehicles, drones, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise then, that in line with its brand new Aerospace & Mobility Cluster, Toulouse Business School’s Aerospace MBA, MSc Aerospace Management and Bachelor in Aviation Management programs were designed with the city’s aerospace industry in mind.
Experienced Aerospace MBA candidates will study in the Global Executive MBA alongside Executive MBA candidates as they learn about industry practices from professional experts, put theory into practice, and come up with solutions for real-life business issues. They will also have the chance to take part in corporate operations and consulting-type activities for genuine companies around the world with opportunities to travel to France, Canada, and India.
While the coronavirus pandemic has been a catalyst for the world having to change the way it thinks, operates and does business, looking to prioritize sustainability, efficiency and environmental impact (SEE) within the aerospace and aviation industry is key.
Learning about corporate social responsibility, digitalization as well as new business models will take center stage in the program’s curriculum while enhanced specializations such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation will also be an option.
For even the most experienced technical managers in the aerospace industry, it’s time to up-skill and get ready for new challenges ahead. The industry is going to require even more agile managers who are competent problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and able to navigate the challenges of the business.
